A network fit for AI volumes
Until recently, it looked like faster chips, bigger servers and more data centres would keep digital innovation ticking along. But with the explosion of AI - and the surging volumes of data that come along with it - two things have become crucial: low latency (for things like immersive experiences and real-time analytics) and the need for us to take a good, hard look at our energy consumption.
As energy demands soar and data bottlenecks multiply, our network is becoming increasingly strained. IOWN is an attempt to address this issue.
The IOWN vision
IOWN (Innovative Optical and Wireless Network) is a vision for future communication and computing infrastructure that re-imagines traditional electronic data transmission and replaces it with optical technologies, i.e. shifting from electrons to light.
IOWN enables dramatically lower energy consumption, massive bandwidth and almost no latency. This will enable industries to design solutions without worrying about current constraints, while paving the way for the next era of digital experiences and industrial applications.
